It’s Sunday afternoon as I sit on my comfy couch, sipping my delightfully warm coffee with just a bit of cream while browsing my curation list. It’s a rare rainy day here in Northern California and the temperature is a little cooler than usual, but I digress.

If you don’t curate content for your blog, you’re missing out. Sharing content is such a time saver for bloggers. It’s also a great way to connect with new writers and mompreneurs.

I’m using the browser tool ‘PressThis’ which works similar to the ‘Reblog’ tool on the free WordPress sites. It really helps me curate content for my blogs.(thanks to —- for the tip)

With a system like Smart Curation Skills, you can share content written by others as well as get traffic back to your own site. ^_^

While searching for Industry News I came across this post on the WiseStamp blog. I like it because it talks about my industry, virtual assistants, and business managers, but I also like it because I know many of the people/sites on this list. ^_^

Planning social content for an entire year can be a bit challenging. After working with clients to prepare content calendars, I know holidays, observances, and just plain weird days for nearly every day of the year. If there isn’t a day, just make it up!

3 Tips For Selecting & Using Days of the Year

1. Be selective when choosing
Andrew Mucci says to “pick niche holidays that relate more to your industry”. He also mentions that it may be beneficial to choose lesser known days to increase your chances of being heard in a loud social world.

2. Do Your Research
Find out about the day, who created it, how and when it started, as well as a few facts about the day, celebration, or cause. This way you can create a variety of images for multiple networks.

3. Add Your Unique Spin
Most will select a day, add the name and date to the graphic, share it and consider it done. Stand out! Commission a coloring page, an interactive quiz, a short explainer video, or host a giveaway or fundraiser.

Hi, my name is Sara and I’m an introvert. I enjoy living behind this screen. I rarely go out of my house, although, I have tried. I am married and have two boys so I must have had a lapse in my introversion to be able to do that. Right?

A few weeks ago I restarted my Pinterest account. While on Pinterest I saw this cool graphic about a challenge on Periscope.

But, before I get to that let me say this. Over the past 4-weeks, I have installed and deleted the Periscope app at least 4 times if not more. (gives you a clue about how my mind works)

Right now, it is currently on my phone. I officially signed up for the challenge hosted by Mellissa of BlogClarity.com. You are welcome to see me fall flat on my face, blubber like a whale, stutter like my mouth is filled with peanut butter, and fiddle with technology. I even give you permission to Laugh Out Loud Rolling On The Floor. 😉

What Brought This Surge of Courage On Sara?

I committed to the “Stretch Yourself Business Challenge” (that’s an affiliate link) via the solomastermind group I belong to. October will be all about content marketing for business.

I always get things done with this group because they have a zero B.S. policy. (or that is what I tell myself so I don’t wiggle out of accountability)

I’m currently working for a client who is a Spiritual Entrepreneur who focuses on personal development. The work I’m doing for her is helping me by default. I enjoy positive people - more so because it is not my natural state.

Working for her is making me look deep inside to the ‘Me’ that I am and not the ‘Me’ that others expect me to be. (did you get that?)

My courage is coming from working. Yes, I know I shouldn’t get my value from a ‘job’ but compare that to doing nothing but thinking about depressing topics and sleeping all day. Better right? I thought you’d agree. 🙂

  3. Head on over to Kim Garst’s site for 37 Ways to Build a Huge Brand on Periscope - she’s like the goddess of Periscope (really). Kim shares some nifty ideas on different ways to use Periscope-like doing live customer service, a Q and A, or a product demonstration. My all-time favorite tip is to remember to fully charge your phone. Duh right? Of course, that makes sense but I’m sure I’d be one to forget.
