Each week I have to start out reading motivation Monday posts. This gives me enough pep and encouragement to fulfill all of my weekly goals.

This week I’m starting a new series on the blog called - Motivation Monday. (unique huh?)
Each week I will share the following:
Today I’m Reading…
Be Careful What You Think; Psalms 1:1-2; Psalms 119:11; and Psalms 119:15
God is…
my higher power, my strength and can be relied upon. He wants to bless me and my family and has a destiny for me if I but walk into it.
3 Things I’m Thankful For…
- my husband’s persistent love
- my older son who is growing up into someone I am proud to say I had a part in creating ^_^
- my younger son who has a very strong will which enables him to accomplish what he sets out to do
This is What I Learned Today…
Joyce (Meyer) starts her devotional out by reminding us that “where we focus your attention is crucial”.
It’s common for us to “meditate” or ruminate on negative things like paying the bills, our children, our marriage, the state of the country, etc. BUT, meditating on the word of God will make us stronger. (PS. 1:2 in his law (comforting word) she meditates day and night)
If you read verse 3 in Psalms chapter 1 it says that (if you meditate on God’s word day and night) you will be so strong that you will be blessed (according to your destined time), you will not give up (whither) AND whatever you do will prosper.
I’m loving this reminder to ponder on the things of God instead of thinking we have to do an in-depth study. There isn’t anything wrong with the later, but meditating is a heart thing whereas studying is a head thing.
While meditating (pondering), you are quieting the heart in order to listen to the Holy Spirit.
**This format is based on the coloring journal by Darlene Schacht, The Time-Warp Wife “Quieting Your Heart 6-Month Bible Study Journal”.
FYI - Darlene leads a Bible Study on her Blog and Facebook group if you’d like to take part in that. (I’ll be using The Battlefield of the Mind Devotional by Joyce Meyer.)
Before I go, you must listen to this song by PINK:
I know it’s about relationships, but I am always inspired by this song to keep trying. In my case, this is fighting my stinking thinking. ^_^
