Monthly income report for Fiverr Gigs: 3-month experiment

I’m running a little experiment to see if Fiverr is a good starting point for midlife women over 40 who are unemployed. You can read more about what started this in my August Report.

September I didn’t really push this site much. I did behind the scenes marketing. I spent time checking out forums, searching blogs I might want to connect with, and asking lots of questions from those who have been at this for a while (successfully).

I’m still trying to curb my habit of being ‘busy’ on non-money-making tasks. This is important for me as this is what I will be doing for my target market. I take care of the stuff that doesn’t make them money so they spend their time on the stuff that does.

It is hard - I know! Systems and plans plus a strong accountability partner are helpful. So, how did I do last month?

Fiverr Earnings:

1 custom gig - $150 + ($20 tip) = $170

No earnings last month. I did not publicize these products or services.

• StudioPress and PrettyDarnCuteDesigns (Genesis Framework and ModernBlogger Theme) $0
• NameCheap - hosting and domain name $0
• Image Monthly - images and graphic design tips subscription $0
• Color Monthly - this is for the motivation section of the website $0
• Smart Curation Skills - teaching clients how to save time and curate content the ‘solosmarts‘ (affiliate link) way $0
• EasyPLR - pre-written content for clients who need me to rewrite for social statuses or autoresponders $0
• Aweber and GetResponse (referral link)- autoresponders $0

Total earned for September $170 USD

• Note - Fiverr payment doesn’t happen until the following month. For instance, August’s earned income was actually received in September. September’s earned income will be received in October.

What I Did:

• Setup custom gig for a client (30 hours in 30 days) $150
• Took down all but the Virtual Assistant Gig
• Added affiliate links to autoresponder
• Added 6 autoresponder messages to queue
• Applied to Grammarly affiliate program (Read my review about my favorite editing tool)

My Goals for September:

Incomplete - Add additional Gigs making sure to be specific. [I took down gigs last month. ]

Complete - I will setup various landing pages with lead magnets to grow my mailing list.

Complete - I will participate on forums and social media. [I’m still learning about my audience. I’m averaging 10 blog posts per week (commenting). I read the post, add a comment, track it via a spreadsheet, and return the next week to check up on the comment for a reply. In forums, I answer questions and get to know the place. I’ve only been at this since August so I’m still very new to the forums I’m involved in.]

My goals for October:

Fiverr:

• I have one custom gig that I’m working on. Complete this with excellent customer service and superior work.
• I want to add 2 very focused gigs to my profile. I will do this by the end of this week 10/9/2015.
• I want to gain 1 gig per week for the month of October. Too risky? We shall see.
• How to gain 1 gig per week? I’m going to ask for a referral from past clients.

Affiliates:

• StudioPress, ModernBloggerPro, and Genesis Frame Work [affiliate links] (I will add a review for these products to my website this month.) Incomplete
• Grammarly [affiliate link] - I will add a review for this product on the blog by the 20th. On the 22nd via a Live Periscope broadcast, I will show a live demonstration. Complete
• Image Monthly - I will write up a broadcast for the special deal Kelly has. She just revamped the site so has a discount plus new subscribers get September and October issues.
• EasyPLR - I will write one or two autoresponder messages and add them to the cue.
• Color Monthly - I will mention this in a blog post about the Creativity challenge I’m participating in this month. I will also prep. an article for adult creativity.
