Sara, are you seriously saying I can write blog content in 15-minutes?
But, aren’t blogs old school? Dying? Not relevant?
No way! Blog content is not going away.
Contrary to what some think, social media isn’t killing the blog.
Nor is mobile.
In fact, short-form content on social media and your blog can be the snack (Snickers™️) that satisfies your reader until the main meal - your cornerstone or pillar content.
Search “Blog Content” on Google Search and you’ll find over 56 million results.
You’re not alone.
Everyone needs content.
Everyone has finite time.
Everyone searches for solutions.
All you need to do is…
Choose to be the solution without the fluff.
Okay, Sara, but how?
“How can I give a valuable solution like Ogi Djuraskovic’s long-form “How to Write Blog Content” with short-form content like Seth Godin’s “How to Write a Blog Post”? Because I’m limited on time I can spend on this side-hustle.”
Blog Content 15-Minutes? Yes, There is a Way

Before you can push out blog content in 15-minutes, you need three things…
- Prepare
- Purpose
- Workflow
Prepare Your Blog Content Strategy
Before you write a single piece of blog content, develop a content marketing strategy.
Know who you’re writing for, why you’re writing and what solution you’re offering.
This eliminates useless blog posts and wasted time.
Believe me, I know a thing or two about useless blog posts. I, like many bloggers, cranked out content daily without a thought to the purpose or the quality. I’m not perfect, some stuff still stinks, but when I’m focused, each piece I publish has a job to fulfill.
Instead of brainstorming topics when you sit at your keyboard, bank your ideas.
With your content strategy in place, brainstorm solutions to the problems your readers want to be solved.
Using PLR content can be a great way to start your next blog post. In this example, I took a single article, clipped some things, added some things, and it’s ready to go. (I’d add images and social triggers.)
Look at this! She's showing how to use plr content to write a post in 15-min. (live example)Click To TweetKeep your headlines organized in a spreadsheet along with your keywords, images from stock photo sites, your reader profiles, and your “go to” research sources.
Having these prepared beforehand will enable you to use your time more efficiently.
Purpose: Give Your Blog Content a Job
Have a plan, a strategy, and a purpose for every piece of blog content you produce.
Ask yourself…
- Which reader profile is this piece for?
- What problem is this piece solving?
- What is my intent?
Angela Wills of Laptop Lifestyle Business Club* writes with the end in mind. She starts with the purpose whether that be adding someone to her mailing list, inviting them to her Facebook group, or recommending an affiliate product*.
“Remarkable content is solution, not product-based.” Hubspot-Inbound 2013
This eliminates fluff.
If each piece of blog content has a job, you can confidently hit publish.

Workflow: Efficient Blog Content Creation Needs A System
Know what to do, when you’ll do it, and how you’ll do it. This is workflow.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Do you have a blog style guide?
- Do you have a blog post template?
- Do you have a system for creating blog images?
- Do you know who handles what in your content creation process?
Once you know the answers, create your templates, checklists, outlines or other tools to streamline your blog content production.
Outsource some of these tasks to your virtual assistant.
You’ll save time and your business will run with better efficiency.
As you can see with the right strategy and process in place you CAN write blog content in 15 minutes. How? Just follow the tips in this post or read my other Quick Blog Posts techniques.
Dear reader,
I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge #blogboost and #Write31Days challenge. Which means you’re in for a treat.
Over the next 31 days, I’ll share how you can use done-for-you content to save your time, your money, and most importantly, your sanity.
This will be packaged up into an eBook at the end so I invite you to share in the comments of each post (you’ll be added as a contributor). What should you share?
- Why do you use done-for-you content?
- If not, why don’t you?
- Have you ever heard of PLR (private label rights) content?
- What keeps you from using it?
- What is your biggest struggle with using the dfy content you own?

Awesome tips! I frequently write my content in under 30 minutes. I’ve never timed to see how long, but I don’t have hours anymore!
Carrie, that’s great. I do a Five minute free write every Friday and it helps get “ME” out of the way to just write. I’m able to do ~100 words sometimes more, so I’m prepping for the 15-minute 500-word writing session. ^_^

Hi, Anne. Glad it was helpful. Anything that helps us be productive and more efficient is good in my book.
